Experience Bali’s scenic Lake District at the mountain resort of Bedugul. Travel the island’s byways and watch the Balinese people going about their daily lives. At Bedugul enjoy the peaceful setting of Lake Beratan from the Bedugul botanic gardens. Nearby are the gardens that produce vegetables and flowers for the hundreds of hotels on Bali. At the north end of Bedugul crater lies one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses, the Bali Handara Country Club, a masterpiece 19-hole course with lush green fairways and colorful flowers lining the fairways. Then on to see the gorgeous Jatiluwih rice terraces that stretch from mountain sides to valleys as far as the eyes can see.
|Ulun Danu Temple at Beratan Lake
One of the most prominent icons of Bali. The cool climate of Candi Kuning gives an extra touch to the ambiance. There is a wooden bridge at one corner of the compound where you can sit back and relax while the cold water of the Lake Beratan chills your tired legs. You can really expect a delightful hassle-free visit to a temple that is known as one of the most famous temples of Bali.
Tamblingan Lake is a beautiful lake located on the north slope of Mount Mortar, Munduk, Buleleng, Bali. This lake is one of the three twin lakes that formed in a large caldera. To the east there is a row of Lake Buyan and Lake Beratan. On the edge of the Tamblingan Lake there is a Gubug Temple. As Lake Tamblingan lies 1,000 meters above sea level, the climate here is cool. The early morning mist that hangs over the waters strangely enhances its mystical appeal. By Lake Tamblingan near Lake Buyan along the south-north highway live a host of monkeys. These multiply so fast, that they are often called the teeming monkeys of the jungle.
|Munduk, Fabulous Waterfall
One of the most fabulous waterfalls on the island that is located in the village of Munduk, north Bali. The path down to the waterfall is densely planted with clove and coffee trees as well as Avocado, Taro, Banana and Durian trees. Munduk lies at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level offering fresh cool mountain air. These falls are impressive and really roar in the wet season. A spot that is little visited, despite being perhaps the most impressive accessible falls on the whole island. Explore the mountain roads and take in the wonderful views. The area around Munduk to the west of Lake Tamblingan is especially spectacular
| Jatiluwih, Amazing Rice Terrace
Set in the heart of the Tabanan Regency in Bali, the Jatiluwih rice fields have been named a UNESCO Cultural Landscape, part of Bali’s Subak System. The vast expanses of terraced, green rice paddies are stepped along an entire mountain, from its peak to where its foot meets the sea. The fields that make up this area have adopted the traditional Subak irrigation system – a method that has been preserved for centuries and passed down from generation to generation. Aside from its agricultural development, this panoramic landscape has also established itself as a tourist destination and is among the top 10 visited places on the island.
